Golf Instructions The Set-Up
Set Up for Straight Shots
Many golfers never consider that their impact problems at address could stem from an inconsistent position at set-up. But think about it; If you set up to the ball differently every time, adjusting your posture, shifting your aim or changing your ball position, how can you expect the club to be in the same position at impact?
The following Golf Instructions for straight shots, will help you set-up correctly for consistency for each golfswing.

STEP 1-
Check Your GRIP
Place the club in the fingers of your left hand.
The “V” formed by your left thumb and forefinger should point at your right ear.
Add your right hand so your right ring finger is flush against your left
forefinger, and your right pinkie rests between the left forefinger and middle finger.
Then cock the club up so the shaft is parallel to the ground. If the
leading edge is vertical, the clubface is square.
STEP 2-
Aim The CLUBFACE
Once you’ve completed your grip, stand behind the ball, facing the
target.
Pick an intermediate target, a spot on the ground, 8″ to a couple of feet in front of the ball and on your target line.
Then step in and place the clubhead. Rather than trying to square
the clubface to your ultimate target, aim it at the intermediate target spot.
You will find it much easier to set up square to a nearby point than to a distant one.
STEP 3-
Complete Your SET-UP
With the club aimed, take a shoulder-width stance, flexing your knees
slightly and tilting from the hips.
Relax your shoulders and let your arms hang freely. Now set your ball
position;-
For short irons, play the ball midway between your heels;
For mid-irons through to fairway woods, move it an inch or two forward;
For the driver, position it opposite the left heel.
While these are basic tips on your set-up, I recommend a much more comprehensive instruction program which can be found by CLICKING HERE
